Mix McGraw My first experience with stunt kites began in the summer of 1978 while attending a kite festival in Golden Gate Park. After watching for a moment, my life was forever changed. I knew this was something I wanted to master and take far beyond what many thought was impossible. As a beginner, I started out flying a set of three and over a period of time my kite train grew to twenty-five. From the beginning there was but one thought that always stayed with me: (failure was not an option). I like flying stunt kites because it allows me to challenge myself. When all others said it was impossible, the spirit within said “be positive, stay focused and make it happen”. Through the years, I have spent a great deal of time perfecting the art of flying stunt kite trains, with grace, form, balance and timing, along with the skillful knowledge of reading the wind. Whenever possible, I try to pass this on to others. Achievements:

Pat McGraw My husband taught me how to fly 75 modified Hyper Star Fighter Stunt Kites. I started out as a crewmember helping him with his record 200 plus stunt kites train, and have really enjoyed it. I began to learn the more technical and mechanical aspects of kite flying. I now do kite repair on the big stunt kite trains, and have an understanding of wind kite layout. Last year we set out to build 300 Hyper Star Fighter Stunt Kites, that was very time consuming. I enjoy flying with the team and hope to do some serious demonstrations in the area. Home:

I am fairly new to the kiting world. I went to Berkeley's 2002 kite Festival to watch my co-worker, Mix Mcgraw attempt to set his first Guinness World record. Well I was Influenced and amazed at all the cool things kites could do. I was very impressed with the communication and teamwork between Mix, his wife Pat and his friend Ray Wong. I was then hooked on flying stunt kites after Mix and his wife Pat taught me how to fly. I started flying a set of hyper star cruiser, twelve sets, the sound; control and full enjoyment of flying stunt kites is totally relaxing. My next challenge was to fly the modified mini sport hyper stunt kite seventy stack. One mistake building or flying this kite and it is all over. There is nothing easy about this kite and I can truly say this is a kite few flyers have mastered. My passion is still the hyper star cruiser with the long tails, but for the ultimate experience, It is a challenge each time I fly my seventy-five stack. I do believe all failures and successes are an accomplishment. Kiting is good for my health, because I have suffered a two-year battle with sciatica. Since I have been kiting, keeping my body limber and relaxed I have been pain free for over a year. Good health, balance and happiness to all. Achilles Gagliano

I am fairly new to the kiting world. I went to Berkeley's 2003 kite Festival to watch my co-worker, Mix Mcgraw attempt to break his Guinness World record and been hooked ever since. My wife Janet and I have started making our own kites which has been very Challenging and a rewarding experience. Since I started making and flying kites, I rarely find time for my other interest - golf and kayaking.
